02/07/2019 File pyrestore2.py has been deleted because it no longer works. This follows a change to the PIL library. Use pyrestore3.py instead. File pyrestore3.py has been updated. A new restoration algorithm has been developed which promises to be better than all previous ones It processes all the jpeg and tiff files in the current directory and puts the results in an existing sub-directory 'restored' (without the quotes). The latest version is restore4.0.py . The development work on these programs is now hosted on https://github.com/stongey/PhotoRestore
